Guidance from start to finish

A clear path through your options, with someone beside you at every step.

From the first conversation through treatment, aftercare, and ongoing support, I'll help you understand your options and navigate each next step — for yourself or someone you love. Together, we'll find a starting point, connect with the right resources, and build a plan you can move forward with.

I provide non-clinical recovery navigation and coaching, with clear communication and practical guidance from start to finish — using resources I would send my own family to.

Read why I started this

What you can count on

You always reach a real person.

When you call, you get me. Not a call center, not a machine. I answer myself, so you're talking to someone who already knows your story.

Fast, clear next steps.

I sort through the options with you, explain them in plain language, and leave you with a simple plan you can act on today.

Resources that were vetted.

Every program I recommend has been checked through my own experience, my work in the field, and professionals I've trusted for a decade.

How it works

What happens when you call.

01

You call. I answer.

No intake form, no waiting on a callback. Tell me what's going on in your own words. This first conversation is free.

02

We get clear on the situation.

Where things stand, what's already been tried, and what level of care actually fits — not just what's available.

03

You get a written plan.

A navigation and care plan with a short list of vetted options matched to your area and level of care. Two or three real choices, not forty links.

04

I make the connections.

I coordinate the referrals, set up the first appointments, and handle logistics — transportation, scheduling, facility tours, childcare planning.

05

I stay with you.

Check-ins once or twice a week, 24/7 phone access, and support through every transition that comes after.

Is this for you?

This is probably a fit if…

And if you're not sure, call anyway. One conversation is usually enough to tell.

  • You've called multiple programs and gotten voicemail, long delays, or no real answers.
  • You're overwhelmed by the options and want help sorting through them.
  • You're a family member trying to help someone and don't know where to start.
  • You need to plan aftercare, or keep someone connected once treatment ends.

About

Why Third Chance Services exists.

I built this around three things: access, clarity, and trust.

Tyler Barkey, founder of Third Chance Services

“

When I worked at treatment centers, I noticed something right away: the moment I picked up the phone, people would exhale in relief. They'd already called other programs, sat through voicemail menus, and walked away with no real answers.

But when you're reaching out for yourself or someone you love, that's exactly when you need a real human being on the other end. Someone who will listen, guide you, and stay with you through the process.

I started Third Chance Services so families don't have to fight through that maze of machines. You call, I answer, and we take the next steps together.

Tyler Barkey, Founder

The mission

Make finding help more human, and less confusing.

My job is to give families a clear path through treatment, aftercare, and support — without the cold, mechanical feeling most people hit the first time they reach out.

Families deserve

  • A real person who answers the phone.
  • Straightforward explanations of the options.
  • Honest guidance about what's realistic and what isn't.
  • Referrals to programs that have truly been vetted.

How I work

Access

When you call, you get me. Not a queue, not an intake coordinator, not a form.

Clarity

I help you see the real options and choose next steps that make sense for your situation.

Trust

I only recommend resources I've vetted myself or that come from seasoned professionals I know.

You don't have to have it figured out before you call. You just have to be willing to start the conversation.

Experience

14 years of hands-on experience.

I'm a certified addiction specialist and recovery coach based in Colorado. I've worked inside treatment centers and alongside families on the front lines of change — and I've seen both the best and the worst of how people get treated when they ask for help.

  1. Where it started

Running weekly recovery meetings and weekend events for a sober support group, keeping a space where people could connect with sober peers.

  2. Residential treatment staff

Day-to-day transportation, activities, and safety for patients — building an environment where healing could actually happen.

  3. Into the counseling room

Individual sessions and treatment plans, plus family meetings to process emotions and rebuild relationships.

  4. Colorado, certified, full-time

Full-time counselor for adolescents and young adults in intensive outpatient treatment, with case management alongside.

  5. Third Chance Services

Independent recovery navigation and coaching, so families reach a person on the very first call.

In their words
