Experience
Experience is the greatest tool and I try to use mine for your advantage. I have been learning from my situations and my own actions since early childhood. I've been involved in counseling, therapy, and psychiatry as a patient since I was 7 years old. I've sat on those comfy couches, been diagnosed, and felt so lost as to why I was in therapy to begin with. I simply wasn't at a place where I thought all these appointments, medications, and techniques were necessary for me. I wasn't ready and no one seemed to truly understand that. After trying to live life my way and having more failures than successes, I finally found something that worked for me. After building a foundation and gaining a better understanding of myself, I started to experience how fulfilling life can actually be. I decided my experience was something worth using for the benefit of others because looking back throughout that part of my journey, I just wanted someone to meet me where I was at and walk next to me on my path. That has been my goals since starting my career in 2012 and it has only grown since then.
-
I started my career at age 20 by participating in the weekly recovery meetings, was responsible for planning weekend events for a sober support group, as well as maintaining a clean and healthy environment for others to connect with other sober peers.
-
A couple years after that I became a Residential Treatment Staff Member, I was responsible for the day-to-day transportation, activities, and safety for the patients. We were responsible for creating an environment that was conducive to healing, connections, and building a strong foundation for recovery.

Then in 2015 I was able to be more involved in the counseling of patients by having individual sessions and creating treatment plans to help them with their progress. At this time I also started meeting with family members to help them process their own emotions and introduce new solutions to them in hopes to rebuild stronger family relationships.
-
Finally, I moved to Colorado and earned my Certification and was able to be a full-time counselor for adolescences and young adults. I aided in their Intensive Outpatient Treatment while also having individual counseling appointments with them and their families. I was able excel in case management and the individual progress of many seeking new ways of thinking to apply to their lives.
